Weyerhaeuser, one of the big forest produce buyers, is now seeking certification for its operations. ("CERTIFICATION", put simply, requires sustainably harvested, well-managed forests with management plans in place.) Since buying logs from uncertifiable sources may not be seen as a Good Thing for Weyerhaeuser, we just might be able to scare our Texada LC "friends" into changing their barbarous logging practices if one the major markets might be closed to them.
